Oh my life! Tomodachi Life 2 is real, and it’s coming next year! I can’t tell you how much I am excited for this sequel. In this blog, I will be going into what I noticed in the trailer and what I look forward to seeing in the game as well.
Updated models for the Miis
These new Mii models look fabulous! They look shiny and have definitely been updated for the new software. Compared to the 3DS version they are definitely more good looking and I actually prefer them. From the trailer we can see that they have new hair and hair colors too! I find this exciting! The two-colored hair we saw is my favourite type from the new trailer out of all the new styles.
New Island!!
The look of this new island is like Animal Crossing New Horizons and I’m absolutely digging it! The original Tomodachi Life’s island was very small and you couldn’t follow Miis around freely either! This new style of island has also updated the shops and locations around it too. Luckily what seems to be the cafe looks the same so, I’ll be expecting we’ll get the same but so much more out of the cafe! They have also shown what seems like free roam so if it’s true that would be awesome!
They still have weird encounters!
From the looks of things weird encounters are still a part the game. We can see the fighting between two miis and an old man doing hip hop lancing at the beach. These call back tonic’s fighting in the original and new material ( unless it’s an updated rap battle). This is exiting because this means we get to see our miis being more fun and quirky as the original could get dry if you played too long.
Honestly I think that these are good implementations that we have seen JUST in the trailer so far that give promise to a better game overall. That being said there is still some things I would absolutely love to see in this new sequel to make it a dream:
Queer representation
As a queer person it was really sad not having my true self be represented on the 3DS. I’m bi so why can’t my mii have crushes on all genders? I get that some people aren’t interested in this change but it’s the small things that can make a difference! For example, we can use Sims 4 as an example and can have a tab just for editing the little details like attraction and pronouns.
More islands/places to visit
I know I praised the island earlier but hear me out a second. We can send our kids to explore and we can actually see where they go in game. In the trailer we can see islands in the distance, why not send our explorer kids to those islands? That would be cool! With more places to visit it would be nice to see the likes of the theme park returning at some point, maybe as an expansion?
So far this is all I can see being added and all I can think to add to the game from what I can see. I hope you have enjoyed reading and if you have any ideas please feel free to share with us!!
