If you are into both TV shows/ movies and story-based games then you might have thought about the topic of combining them both before! Games and movies have such a great way to tell great tales in their own forms. Today I’ll be writing the shows and movies that I think will be good as TellTale games and why I think they’ll be a good fit.

Breaking Bad/ Better Call Saul

The Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul series have a lot of twist and turns that would work well within the context of choice-based story games. For example, finding out who Gus really is could be different depending on choices. Playing as legendary characters such as Walter White, Saul Goodman, and Gus Fring would be a delight to many players ans fans alike. The choices wouldn’t have to be in line with the shows and they can answer some potential what ifs of the original audience base.  Personally, I would love to see more of different stories being told throughout the universe of Breaking Bad. If seeing the Walking Dead be adapted to games we can definitely see these series be adapted to games.

Hunger Games

With the original trilogy and the new prequal we have been shown how the stories behind and/or during the games can be very entertaining. Being able to be a part of the games making decisions that could impact the story could be fun as our decisions would have an actual impact on the games. Examples of this is who to join in a group or who to kill and when. As we have seen The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes be so good, this would be another series that could have a great game to expand the universe.

Divergent

The Divergent series has a lot that can be done with it even if it isn’t based off the original trilogy. A story of someone going off to a new faction and making an emotional story based off that would be interesting to play. There could be choices based on our factions and who we partner with in the game. The choice-based style of TellTale games would mean that it can truly be our own story. If there ever is a game about the world of Divergent, it would have to be more finished then the films!

Agretsuko

In Agretsuko we see the story of a red panda working in a job she hates and at night she takes out her frustration using karaoke. Compared to other ideas on this list, this game would be tamer in terms of content. We could play and decide on what to eat at lunch to what we should do after work or even if we should flirt with others in the office. This compared with Agretsuko’s art style would make this game charming.
