Life is Strange has got to be my all time favorite video game series. Like all series it has, unfortunately, got both stronger and weaker titles. Today I’ll be rating them from best to worst.

  1. Life is Strange

Is the OG in the series really the first without being goated? For a really simple game it really does hit the mark in so many regards. It has Sci-fi, splice of life, and mystery elements that came together really well. Everything about it is very atmospheric and nostalgic which is rare to see in games. Even the reveal of the main villain was something new! The topics of substance abuse and suicide felt well written and didn’t feel out of place in the story. I don’t think another game in this series will top it despite its flaws. Just don’t play the remaster- its buggy!

       2. True Colors

I loved the vibes of this game. The small town was amazing and all of the characters in the game were unique and interesting. With everyone having their own issues to deal with the world felt alive- the empathy powers allowed us to see how they are really dealing with everything too! The story was really simple and the plot twists were well done yet again! Alex is probably one of my favorite main characters of the story and her main love interests were good. I would highly recommend this entry if you loved the first one like me!

       3. Before the Storm

This was a really short and nice Rachel. Game! This was a short and nice game. (I promise this is the only reference I’ll deliberately make). This prequel made so many things about the first game come to life and it was amazing! Many characters from the first game have even been expanded upon. Over three chapters we manage to see sides to so many people that we probably thought was never possible. Getting to see Chloe fall in love with Rachel was the best and worst part of this game. Seeing Chloe happy was amazing. Seeing Rachel well….. it added depth to the series! Overall it was pretty good.

       4. Life is Strange 2

The brotherly connection was adorable, the way we can influence Daniel was clever, and the multiple ending were all unique. Honestly, if parts of this game didn’t stretch on for so long I would have enjoyed it more than I did. Throughout the entire game you’re going from one location to another to another. One location was never really fleshed out. All of the game just focused on the brothers and in new environments and not much else. I understand the story needed them to go to Mexico. However, I would prefer a different reason for running that would make the last half-quarter more stable.

      5. Life is Strange and Before the Storm remastered

These remastered games somehow came out worse than the ones that came out years before. In both I managed to get more bugs and glitches and for games that came out in 2022. If you look at my reviews of individual games then they are rated there overall. Honestly, if Double Exposure wasn’t Double Exposure these would be last on the list.

       6. Double Exposure

This was exactly how they could have managed to destroy the first game. Everything that was good in the original was actually bad. The time powers made no sense, the story was lackluster, and the villain made no sense. They even made Max and Chloe split up after the first game! Honestly, I felt like the writing was lazy and they couldn’t find ways to make each timeline similarly different. It was so lazy the only way we know Max is a teacher is through telling, not showing. For example, we were never shown Max teaching. The entire gaming experience for this really annoyed me way more than it should.

What do you think of this list? Do you agree? Let me know!
