Ever since I was a kid I’ve been playing games on Nintendo consoles. Throughout the years I’ve played a lot of first party games- so I’ve decided to create a list of my top 5 Nintendo games.
1- Breath of the Wild (Switch)
Does this game really need an introduction? It is everything I love in a Zelda mixed with what I love in usual open world RPGs. There’s a lot of puzzles with different difficulties mixed with choosing which upgrades to pick at what time. This is also the first truly open world Zelda games which makes it more special.
2- Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS)
Out of all of the Animal Crossing games that I’ve played I’m definitely most nostalgic for this title. Is this why it’s second on this list? Yes. Do I care? No.
3- Wii Sports Resorts(Wii)
As a kid I wasted too much time at my grandparents house playing the airplane game just to see Wuhu island. Everything this game adds is phenomenal. Sword Fighting instead of boxing- hell yeah! Even today I would say it is the best sports games for the Wii, making it an easy third place.
4- Mario Galaxy (Wii/Switch)
Coming from Mario Sunshine, this was mind blowing as a kid. I couldn’t believe Mario was in space. Even today I’m impressed and it holds up as one the best Mario games created. They managed to get the movement smooth, the story intriguing, and bring it together in one game. Impressive!
5- Tomodachi Life (3DS)
Where else can you marry your crush, make idiotic songs about your siblings, and make replica’s of your friends? Sure, Sims can cut it. But would Sims be able to get on stage singing about how your brother smells? Or how your nemesis sucks? I think not! And it is why Tomodachi Life works so well. I can’t wait for the Switch version to come out soon.
What are your top five Nintendo games? Do you have the same games on your list?
