TV Shows

Beastars

So far I am a few episodes back into the second season. So far I have enjoyed my re-watch and can say I appreciate Legoshi’s character growth more. This introverted and weird wolf resonates with me a lot! I like how the show also says a lot about society too. Herbivores and carnivores represent different species and the way they are treated are like that in real life too. With this re-watch I look forward to seeing the newly released final episodes too.

Legoshi from Beastars

The League of Gentlemen

I’ve recently watched the first few episodes and really enjoyed them. I can already see how similar- but different- it is to Inside Number 9 which I also loved. So far I have already fallen in love with the wacky characters and strange town. After I’ve completely finished Beastars I will give this more attention.

Movies

The Grand Budapest Hotel

I don’t know why I didn’t watch this before!! It is eccentric and unafraid to be goofy which is right up my street. Ralph Fiennes performance also made me laugh more than it should have in places. He was effortlessly amazing in this movie! I think the batshit nature of the story really made it charming when combined with the acting. This was an automatic top 10 movies for me.

Sharks of Lost Island

Basically- this was a documentary about islands with sharks thrown in for good measure. I still enjoyed as it was cool to find out about islands I’ve never heard of. And sharks are cool- even if they had an occasional appearance. There’s not much else to note about this documentary.

Heel/ The Good Boy

The premises of this movie was great, yet the ending let me down. I felt the ending could have been a lot darker than it was. If they kept it dark and explained some things they set up then it would have been better in my eyes. For example, they had another son who wasn’t there! Where did he go and what happened to him? That would have been good to unravel throughout but nothing came of it. I’m glad I saw it at a special screening as I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise.

Gaming

Sims 3

I’m a little but addicted to Sims 3 right now! I’ve got two completely different families I’m playing between right now and I keep on coming up with more and more ideas. One is a big and wealthy family- the other a struggling father/son combination. The different dynamics of the families have been really fun to play out. I might even try to do a blog post about them (if I can work out how to screenshot in game!).

To Pixelia

To Pixelia is a cute little life sim game made by an indie company. I really like how there is an optional story and I am slowly going through it. It’s interesting and unique as it is 2d with a colourful world. I find it hard to keep on top of needs but after a while it has become easier. With each new mistake I learn so much more. I highly recommend if you want to check out any indie games.

Minecraft Xbox 360

As I was scrolling on YouTube, as you do, I saw a video about the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. Whilst watching I thought “Damn I want to play that version again!”. So that’s exactly what I did! I’ve sunk an embarrassingly high amount of time into a world and I enjoyed it. In my opinion this was peak Minecraft. The simplicity of this version has been a blast to replay.

Music

Sustinere

Whilst chatting to a Discord friend this band ended up in the conversation. I listened and fell in love with their music! They are alternative and remind me of Set It Off. If you haven’t heard of them I will leave a link to one of their albums here.

5 Seconds Of Summer

Whilst chilling out listening to music, my Apple Music played on of their songs (I forgot which one). As I really liked the song, I looked into their stuff and ended up finding another band to enjoy this month. So far I’ve listened to their Essential album and Everyone’s a Star.
