Life Is Strange: Reunion
This was easily one of my top three in the series. It was short, sweet, and an improvement from Double Exposure. The ending for Max and Chloe felt bittersweet, but I liked it nonetheless.
Tomodachi Life
Since this came out this month, I’ve been playing it every day. In my opinion, it’s a step up from the 3DS version. The freedom is impressive! My Miis have talked about 69ing and have sworn a lot—honestly, for a Nintendo game, that’s kind of wild.
Movies
Project Hail Mary
I don’t think I’ve ever loved a rock so much. Rocky was a cool little rock, and I loved the friendship between him and Ryland Grace. The story was simple, yet told really well. Just like this review, this review, it is the definition of “accidentally became important at work and it’s ruining my life”.
Super Mario Bros Galaxy Movie
I’ve watched this movie twice—once in 2D and the other in 3D. The 3D added barely anything to the experience, but it was still a fun ride. I loved Yoshi in this movie, and I wish we could adopt a dinosaur in real life.
Heathers The Musical
As a fan of musicals, I can’t believe this is on Blu-ray. Since I have it on disc, I thought, why not watch it again? Honestly, it’s a good adaptation of the stage play. The close-up shots really made this version better, in my opinion.
Books
More days at the Morisaki Bookshop
I felt like this was better than the first! There’s more of an actual story, and it didn’t feel like it was all just vibes. It’s about friendships, love, and how everything connects in the end. If you like short books, I’d recommend the duology.
Everything is Tuberculosis
John Green somehow makes tuberculosis sound almost sexy (yet still sad). The more I learned about the disease, the more it became clear the title is true—everything is TB! It’s written in a way that doesn’t feel like just another non-fiction book.
